Design and construction of a new 4 storey extension to the existing building covering the rear facade to provide circulation space, access core with a lift shaft and stairwell allowing the existing floorspace to be used more effectively and to provide improved access to all floors. The extension is to constructed of contemporary materials, primarily wood and white render with recessed coloured aluminium windows and structural glazed entrance.
Alterations and refurbishment to the existing building include replacement like for like timber sash windows to the front elevation to keep the character of the conservation area and respect the historic front facade. Internally total refurbishment to include new ground floor reception, creation of offices, meeting rooms and new toilet facilities complete with complete new services throughout the building.
External works consist of removal of the courtyard structure, new planters, new steel entrance gates, signage and a new roof covering over existing building.
