Procured under a 2 stage design and build route, this project located on the Birmingham High Street, involves the structural refurbishment of a series of existing retail units at ground level, with offices on the upper floor levels.
The second stage of the procurement process was completed in three weeks, so the overall Client completion requirement was met.
The works involved major structural alterations, including the demolition of a concrete vaulted roof, internal concrete stairs and existing concrete beams. These works interfaced with the installation of new steelwork, to create a new feature curtain wall front elevation and major strengthening works to incorporate a leisure facility on the upper floors.
